Shimano Deore rear der. and Sram X-7 shifter

Are these compatible? Lbs says they don't think so. Anyone have experience with this?

No they are not. Shimano and SRAM derailleurs and shifters use different cable pull ratios for their rear d's. Front derailleurs are compatible between the two manufacturers, rears are not. So you if you have a Shimano rear d, then you need a Shimano shifter, and vise-versa.

Not compatible unless you use an adapter which costs about as much an X7 rear derailleur or Deore shifters.
