New question here. Shimano BB-M952 fit FC-M752 ?

I've been asking around and did some research but still not fully sure if the 2 will fit together.

Can anyone tell for sure if the above-mentioned BB & crankset are compatible?

My BB shell is 68mm wide.

    Thanks!

No they are not compatible. The 952 XTR BB uses what is known as the V1 octalink splines. Its splines are only 5mm long and require a crank arm with the matching interface. Their roadbike cranks share this design. The XT type octalink has longer splines, about 10mm long. I'm pretty sure the 752 cranks would fit into the V1 type spline but the engagement area between the BB spline and cranks grooves will be so small it will strip the crank arm mount.

    Good job! thanks guys...

for your confirmations. I had thought that the 2 Octalinks looked the same and almost bought the BB to replace old one.
