Sram Derailleurs and Shimano shifters don't mix. You've got X9 back there, do you have a 9 speed cassette? The shifters are 8 speed? Sounds like the shop is right on there. Did they charge you?

If you have a 8 speed cassette then you need 8 speed shifters. Since you are using a SRAM rear derailleur, you will need to use SRAM 8 speed shifters. OR, use your current shifters and get a Shimano rear derailleur (all will work EXCEPT 10 speed DynaSys).

Yes my cassette is 8 speed shimano and shifters are 8 speed shimano so I need Sram 8 speed shifters and a Sram 8 speed cassette he only charged me 5.88.Or get a shimano rear derailleur.

Only 8 speed SRAM shifters...the cassettes are interchangeable.
