Hi, have a question regarding moving shifters closer together.
If i move my shifter in about 3/4 of an inch EACH, closer together, will i need to readjust the cables at the derailleurs as well? or will the slack not be a problem.
Thanks!!!
i presume you mean closer towards the centre of the bar? that should not be a problem. the tension of your derailleur cable is maintained by the housing. but of course if you have too long a cable then it might not go round the bends smoothly which may affect your shifting.
I also prefer my shifters and brake levers about 1/2 to 3/4" further inboard of the ends of my grips. Just depends on the brake lever design. Unless you've got and exremely large amount of excess cable/housing between the shifter and first set of cable stops on the frame, it shouldn't be a problem at all.
