rugged crankset recommendation for 2008 Spec Enduro

    Howdy
my left crank arm came off the other day - won't go back on without a bit of hammering so I think the splines got smeared a bit. It's a Shimano XT with the HollowTech II interface. I'm looking for your advice - My style is inbetween all-mountain and free ride, and I live in the perpetually muddy rooty rocky pacific northwest. i love rugged hard core tech. what crankset would be good for the bike ( 2008 Specialized Enduro) ? thanks

Another vote the SLX especially the double with the steel pedal inserts. Also it would be a good idea to not use the shimano BBs as I have seen them become ovalized, bearing cages smashed.
