replace old 7 speed sachs huret

My 15 year old sach huret 5000 7 speed rear derailleur is toast. have to replace and want something similar. it is index shifting

looking for recommendations for something that will be comparable and durable, but not break the bank, this is not my prime bike.

will i need to replace shifter too?

A nine speed rear derailleur will work fine with a 7 speed drivetrain and chain. You shouldn't have to replace the shifter as 7 speed SACHS and Shimano spacing are the same and the pull ratio was the same. Assuming this is for a road bike, a Shimano Sora would work just fine and is cheap.
