Rear Deraileur types
Rapid rise vs Standard ?
What is the difference ?
-
standard will have highest gear/smallest cog as its natural untensioned state and rapid rise will be the lowest gear/largest cog - in other words with no cable attached the standard will swing to the outside and the rapid rise will swing to the inside

Neither is better except in the sense of which way do you prefer your shifter/derailleur to function. Personally I prefer high normal (standard) vs low normal (rapid rise). What shifters are you going to use with the derailleur?

They'll work fine together and it will be rapid rise...at least I believe so with that derailleur...

The derailleur doesn't prevent chain derail/skipping just because it's rapid rise. Those are adjustment issues.

You already have the derailleur, the shifters work with either type, so give it a try. Quite a few like it, I don't.
