    Rear Deore der compatibility ?

I want to get a new rear deore mech, the m592 or even better the m593.

My question is will any of these two work with my 8 speed cs-hg40 cassette ?

    and 8 speed stx-rc shifter ?

I currently run an Acera :

I think that any derailleur, rear or front works with 7-8-9 even 10 speed cassettes.
Any help will be appreciated !

The M592 will work from 7-9 speeds, the M593, it's counterpart is 10 speed only. 10 Speed uses a different pull ratio. I use an M592 on a few of my 9 speed bikes. They work great when adjusted properly, i recommend reading the manual, the B-Screw has to be adjusted right, not like the older models that were pretty most plug and play. It only taks 2 minutes to adjust, but I figured I'd point that out.

You may want to look at bluesky cycling, they have the M592 for under 45. Also, somtimes Amazon is cheap. If you need anything else, pleas let me know.
