So besides the 10 or 20 grams you save between the two derailleurs has anyone ever used both and can really feel performance.
I use X.0 rear on one bike and XTR rear on another and they both work great!
My wife's bike needs a new rear derailleur and I wanted to know if I should get the X.0 or X.9. She doesn't race. If she does it will be only a couple of events.
I'd say definitely go with the '07 or '08 X9 then, and save some coin for other things. SRAM made the X9 very nice for the '07 line (I assume the '08s follow suit)...
You should be very happy with the X9 - especially given the price difference between it and XO, and the miniscule (if any) gain in shifting performance.
i have used both recently... i had an '07 xo with the all carbon cage. bad idea... that lasted less than a month. for '08 sram changed that cage to have carbon on one side and alum. on the other...obviously there was a durablilty issue with the all carbon cage.. that said...
i am now using an x9 and love it. set up quick and seems just as crisp as the xo was and looks to be much more durable and significantly cheaper.

Must be some durability issue. I mean, mine has only been running trouble free for 2 years. I tell ya....
The X.9 is significantly cheaper with near similar performance though. If I were to do it all over again, I'd go with X.0 shifters and X.9 derailleurs.
