    Question about BB spindle lengths

I'm building up an 04 stumpjumper FSR expert and I found the original specs, they used a 68x121 Octalink BB. I just have the frame right now and I've been looking online at Cranks and I'm probably going with Deore cranks (I'm not very hard on cranks, my other bike still have very functional alivio cranks on them). Looking online at Jenson, The specs say it uses a 113mm length spindle. Aside from the extra 8mm How will this affect my build? Should I use the 121 mm as per the original or will the 113 lenght be fine?

Also how do I measure the "chain line" is this the distance from the center of the seat post to the large chain ring?

Sorry but Cranks are the only thing Bike wise I've never messed with before

BB Spindle Length Is Independant Of Frame

Go with what is recommended for the crankset.
The 121mm that is mentioned by Specialized was to match whatever crank was OEM.

Great, thanx. That was my first though on that, but as the numbers were conflicting I wasn't sure
