    Q Factor Question

I am currently running an LX Hollowtech II (580) crankset. It seems to have a really wide q measurement (around 175mm). Most of the other crank manufacturers don't list q (although FSA does). My question is does anyone know of triple cranks (for XC use) that have a lower q factor than the new Shimano's?

i dunno the answer to your question, but, if you use SPD pedals, you can slide your cleats all the way to the outside of your shoes. this will get your feet a handful of millimeters closer together. maybe not as much as you want/need, but hey, it's something.

    XTR 970 = 169.5mm

If you're running Eggbeaters you can buy the narrower Q factor pedal stainless spindles now.

    Q Factor

is the horzontal distance between the crankarms. Basically, how far apart the pedals are.
