    Pedal Suggestions

I have been reading the product reviews and could use a little more help. I want a clipless pedal with some kind of cage or platform so that I can ride my xc bike clipped/unclipped or with regular shoes for short jaunts around town. Have looked at Shimano 545 and Crank Bros. Mallet. Any feedback on Acid's?

The Shimano's seem like they would bee painful in regular shoes due to the cage popping up. Is this true?

    Any ideas would help

    Thanks.

Dont use the shimnaos with regular shoes. If there is any wetness or dust, you will slip off and it could be painful. There are some downhill pedals that could suit your needs.
Lead by my Lefty............... right down the trail, no brakes.

Another one to consider is the Time Z.

They work great when clipped in (of course), and reasonably well, unclipped, with a knobby soled shoe. They work less well with a smooth soled shoe or sandal. (My Tevas slip off of the pedals sometimes...) However, for short jaunts around town, you'd be okay regardless.
