    Need help removing cassette body.

This is for a 2013 Stout SL hub that came on my Specialized Carve Sl 29 single speed. I'm in the process of changing the rear gearing and want to clean out the hub while i'm at it.

I have no idea how to remove the end caps, cassttee body and axle. Has anyone done this before? Each end cap is held on by a screw. Name: IMAG1331.jpg

Did you have any success? I have the same bike and wheels and am trying to replace the freehub. I have removed the endcaps after loosening the small recessed screws, but am having problems removing the axle. How did you remove the axle?

There is no axle inside that hub. The removeable end caps only provide a sleeved flange to thread the QR "axle" through. Once the end cap setscrews are loose - simply use a pair of pliers and a rag to firmly pull the caps out.

Thanks. I did pull off the caps, but I believe I need to remove the exposed shaft so that I can get an allen wrench inside to loosen the freehub, correct?

Please take it to your LBS and see exactly how they do it. Take notes, pay them and you'll be able to do this yourself from this point forward...
