Well I was servicing my 2 year old 2003 SRAM 9.0SL disc rear hub, replacing the outboard bearings. When I took the driveside bearing out and pulled out part of the axle, this is what I saw:

Notice the cracks circled in red. The large notch you see is identical 180 degrees on the inside of the freehub body, probably so a tool can be used to dissassemble it. The "crack" seems to be a straigth line, so I can't tell if it is purposely put there or if it actually did crack. I know service parts aren't made for this hub anymore either. The freehub doesnt exactly spin that smooth anymore either, even after dropping a small amount of Tenacious Oil in the freehub.
