Smile Is my Chain Lenght too short?

    Is my chain too short?
Since I never ever use my largest chainring on road and trails, I decided to shorten my chain for 2x8 instead of 3x8.
please note that I will often use big-big 32-32 on quick climb, should I put an extra link or leave it as is?
    1st pict: big-big(32-32)
    2nd pic: big-small(32-11)
    3rd pic: small-big(22-32)
    4th pic: small-small(22-11)

Looks like mine all though I use SRAM X7 short cage. In fact my derailleur is more stretched out, one chain link shorter or more than the top picture. I started measuring my own chains years ago after relying on lazy shops that left my chains too long and ended up damaging my drive trains and getting too much chain suck.

If that's big big in the first picture, it's fine. Might even be able to go one link shorter

it's fine... about the only issue I see is the upper jockey seems a bit far off the cassette in that first pic. Could just be the pic but, General rule is the upper jockey should be around 6mm off the cassette's largest ring... tooth to tooth... move it in by turning the "b" screw... it's the one in the back...

from shimano's manual.... they want it almost touching.. thou after both areas of test it'll end up right around the 6mm mark depending on hanger spotting on the cassette....

I'd like to see another link in there, but not bad enough to break the chain. When it comes time to replace the chain, add a link.
