MTB crankset in road bike with GPX bb

The wife is recovering from total knee replacement. The gearing provided by the SRAM Force crankset on her road bike (34-50 iirc) is too high for her. I already have some big cogs on the cassette, so I would like to set her up with some smaller chainrings while she rehabs.

Does anyone know if a SRAM 2X10 mtb crankset, say an x9 or XO, will be compatible with the Force GPX type bottom bracket? The bike is a Ti Titus rd bike with standard 68 or 73mm threaded bb.

I suspect I'll have to lower the front derailleur, but are there other issues I'll need to consider?

    Thanks

The road and mtb GXP BBs are the same. May need a different spacer setup, and check for frame clearances

If your wifes bike has 10 sp Sram road group, have you thought about a long cage Sram MTB 10 speed rd and a 11-36 cassette?

    Works wonderful.
