I don't know what else to do. My bike makes noise. I have this noise coming from my BB area and I hate it. Its kind of a "tink tink datink" sort of sound. When it first began I took out the BB and greased the threads. That didn't help. I tighten the crank bolts, and that didn't help. The chain ring bolts didn't need tightened. I even changed the pedals. What is going on?
This is the first time I have used the ISIS system and I wonder if I made a mistake in purchasing it. I searched the frame for cracks and I didn't see any. Any adivce?
If you're certain it's the BB, which is very possible with many ISIS bottom brackets, simply get a new one such as an SKF, the best damn ISIS BB made.
Remember as well, that singlespeeding places more stress on bottom brackets, headsets, and chains not to mention every other component that's being torqued when you're mashing. That's just the nature of the ride. Also examine your freehub and make sure to eliminate that as a variable.
If all else fails, create a cardboard sign and stand at a busy intersection.

That is so inappropriate... a f*cking roadbike man?
I'm not exactly sure if it is the bottom bracket. I've only had it in the bike for one season, that season being winter and I commute through salt, snow and crap. But come on, I used a cheap shimano square taper for years and never had it make any noise. I would hesitate without knowing to buy a new BB without knowing for sure if that is the problem. How would I know if it isn't the crank interface causing the noise? Is there any tests that I can to locate the source of the problem? I'm stumped.
I have chased a noise that I thought was a BB then pedals and crank bolts.
Seat post, bars and then I took the wheels off and cleaned the axels and
dropouts..........ahhhhh quiet now. It was the dropouts.
It's definitely not the seat as it sqweeks worse when I'm out of the saddle torqueing on it.
What I was really looking for when I started this thread was some advice as to what tests I could do to the bike in order to nail down where the noise is comming from. It seems like bicycling magazine has an article about once a year high-lighting sources of noises and how to fix them. Something like: if you get X noise then do this, or torque on that. But I am having a hard time locating any info like that. Anyway, I'll keep working on it, thanks you guys.
Good luck man. I had a a creak all last year that I was sure was in the bb, crankset or seatpost. I messed with everything I could think of but it never went away. I finally found the fix though.....I'm building a new bike  Now I'll have new noises to listen to!
The metallic tink sound when a pedal goes over top is often the sound of dry ball bearings in the lightly loaded side of the BB clicking into the next ball in the race because there's no grease between them. Not an uncommon problem with the sealed bearings in an ISIS BB. What brand of bottom bracket are you using?

The BB is a TruVativ Gigapipe. It wasn't super expensive. Anyway to get grease in there? If its trashed what is the protocal for warranty on something like this? It worked so well for a while.
I hate to say it, but that is probably one of the worst ISIS BB's out there, almost everyone of those I've sold over the years I have replaced at one point or another because they just suck. If you can track down a Race Face Signature XS series those are good but usually spendy, mines going on 3 years, the last 2 on a SS with no issues, and I'm 225 lbs! Also SKF BB's are really solid like NP mentioned.
