    M552 crank upgrade?

I just ordered a new bike last night. It comes with a shimano M552 crank (same that is on my current Fuel EX8). The new bike has a mix of XT and SLX other than the crank.

Is an XT or SLX crank a noticable upgrade? Even though I am a smaller guy at 170lbs w/ gear.

What is the value of a New take off M552 crank?

The most basic difference will be weight. Functionality is the same.

I am hoping to build off of this question. I am fairly new to MTB and I need to replace my drivetrain. I have a Trek Superfly which has the Shimano M552 Crankset. What should I look for to replace it and make sure it is compatible. I was looking into Shimano XT Dyna-Sys FC-M780 Triple Crankset. Anyone know if this will work?

That XT crankset will work. Or an SLX if you want to save some money.
