    Klein Palomino help please

    My '03 Palomino has had consistent shifting problems. Anybody else in the same boat? I have solved some problems by increasing the pressure in the rear shock. My current problem in constant chain suck. I keep everything clean and lubed properly but the bottom of the chain rides up on the chainstay. The chain seems to stick on the front rings and rides up and binds. Any suggestions?
    Your bike can take you anywhere, anytime, over any terrain but, you have to force it to GK 2004. BB1, who started it?

    a couple things you can do about the shifting....

    1) get a D-Type front derailuer from maverick. maverickamerican.com. you'll have to buy a DA or Ultegra braze on FD too. I have a source that says that it works great on an '03 palomino

    2) you can upgrade to the new maverick air only shock. i believe if you're a heavier rider, you should do it anyways, cause the air is a lot more adjustable that the '03 rear shock.

    as for chain suck, well, make sure your chain is new, clean, and your chainrings are new, clean, and not pitted. not much you can do besides this.

    Have you called Klein and run the problem past them? I had similar issues on my Pal when I got it, called Klein, found out that I needed a heavier shcock spring and was told to ignore the set points in the manual. Five minutes after hanging up the phone my bike was shifting flawlessly and rode like nobody's business. 5 days after that I had a new 2004 air shock to replace the 2003 air/coil shock, as Klein was backordered on the clydesdale spring kits and he wanted to get me hooked up ASAP.

    Great customer service and no more problems with the bike.

    I called Klein, they told me about the spring. I bought another bike so the Klein will be leaving the stable.
