    Jump Stop Questions

Is it possible to use a Jump Stop for my second chain ring if I leave my granny gear on? Also, how are the sizes for the jump stops measured (1-1/4, 1-1/8, 1-3/8) and what size would be best for a Cobia?

I'm guessing the size is for the diameter of the seat tube. The circumference of the Cobia is about 4" so it seems like a 1-1/4" jump stop would be best.

I'm still not sure if I can leave the granny gear on with the jump stop aligned to the 2nd chain ring. I don't have the proper tools to take off the crank arms so that's why I'm planning to leave it on.

    It is.

You might be able to leave your granny gear on the crank, but you'd probably get better results with it removed.

Reviving an old post...do guys usually just run the middle ring with a jump stop? I wanna go to a 1x9 but I don't know if guys run the granny ring or the middle ring when going with this setup. Thoughts?
