I dont usually apply any degreasers to my chain unless they are gunked up good and need a good cleaning. I always clean my chain with a small brush and re apply lube and run through a rag.
When I do use degreaser I use the ecotech stuff and let it sit on my chain for a few minutes and then run it through a rag until no more crud comes off. After that I spray warm water on the chain to make sure I have the degreaser off before reapplying new lube.
What I want to know is instead of using the ecotech stuff can I just use 99% Isopropyl alcohol as a degreaser? I assume as it would evaporate fast I would have to do the whole rinsing of the cahin before applying new lube.
Thanks for any tips guys
One of these days I will get a chain that has removable links, Im sure it would make cleaning a chain easier
