how much can I cut an Easton MonkeyLite

I have a 680mm riser MonkeLite XC handlebar and I want to cut it down to 580mm aprox...so that will be 5cm per side...is that recommendable on a "so wide" handlebar?

Could I do it without compromising strenght of the material?

    thanks a lot!

    bye

They've got quite a bulge in the middle, you might not have enough space left for levers, shifters and grips with that much trimmed off. As long as the cut is clean and properly finished it reduces the leverage on the bars so it shouldn't weaken them. You might want to read this...
