    how do i determine bottom bracket size

    i need to order a new bottom bracket to fo with the crank i just purchased, i currently do not have the tools to remove my orginal bottom bracket, is there a way i can determine the current size?

    u can get the bb shell size by taking a ruler to it.

    as for the spindle length, you need the crankset off to measure exactly

    Your old bb might work if your new crankset is either the same or uses the same bb...the bb is crankset specific, not frame specific, with some exceptions. What crankset did you get?

    I should add that the width of the shell on your bike is one of the measurements specific to your bike (usually 68 or 73 mm) like ctracer1 said, otherwise the spindle length is specific to your crankset and desired chainline...
