    Help me decide which Crankset.

    Hello,
I'm ready to ditch my POS ISIS crankset (Race Face Ride XC) after breaking the bottom bracket. I mainly do XC but also like to do some small dirt jumping and drops.

I have narrowed it down to the following cranksets.

-Shimano XT 760 Hollotech II $189.00

    -Race Face Atlus $199.00

    -Race Face Deus $200+

    any input is appreciated.

    Thanks.

For what you are doing I think that he Dues would be too small for it. The XT and the Atlus sound good. That is your call from there.

Yeah I read up on the Deus some more and your right.

I'm leaning towards the Atlus because it sounds quite beefy and durable. XT probably shifts better though...hmm.

Either way It should be a big improvement over my current Crankset.

The Atlas should shift just as good if not better since it uses the Shimano patents. Not may companies use the patents, so they don't have perfect spacing, ramping, and teeth.

    Atlas

I have the Atlas. It's awesome. Super stiff and burly.

I recommend the Deus. I've got the Atlas on my trailbike and Diabolus on my Whistler bike. Atlas is strong enough for DH/FR, Deus is strong enough for smooth or light DH riders (stronger than the old Turbines that people beat the piss out of). I don't recommend the XT, as I broke one in less than a year on my trailbike and Shimano didn't warranty it.
