    Help on Bottom Bracket

I have LX HollowTech cranks that are a few years old, I think i may need a new BB because i feel a kind of "skip" when pushing on the pedal/s on my 5spot, i have checked the pivots, they are not loose-not the pedals either - don't think it is the cassette either.. so the only other thing that i believe it could be is the BB, since that is exactly were i feel it coming from. Soooo my question is.. can I use a XT BB, which is a ES-70, i believe the one i have is a ES-71 - but i am not sure if i can ONLY use a ES-71on the LX cranks, i am not sure what the difference is - they look the same, will the ES-70 change the chain line?

If it's the LX 571 (previous generation; straight arms) you can use any ES series bottom bracket in a 113mm or 118mm spindle length.

If it's an LX 572 (current generation; "fat" arms) you're stuck using an ES-51 in 121mm or 126mm spindle lengths only.
