    good SS crank?

I am building a SS 29er and need a good crank. I have had bad luck in the past on my single speeds with cranks. I want to do this right and get a reliable SS crank. I would perfer a 180mm crank but will be willing to go down to a 175mm if it means the crank won't come loose in a few months. I am 200 pounds and stand up on all up hills. Never had a problem with cranks till I went to single speed. Maybe I have just been buying the wrong cranks. So this time around I want to get a good crank to start off with.

    Thanks

    Strong and light SS crank.

Modified XTR 950, 960, 970, or XT all make strong, dependable and light SS cranks. There's 3 good options for you to consider. And they can be had in 180mm.

thanks all, I haven't even come across any of those in my search. Here are some I found and not sure if they are any good. I have just been doing a search on google for 180mm single speed cranks and trying to find reviews on them. I will look up the ones you have posted as well and see if I can find them. XTR might be out of my price range but I haven't looked to see if I can find deals on them. I know MSRP they are out of my price for sure, hehe.

Don't know much about 29'er gearing, but I run a Truvativ Stylo 1.1 on both my 26'er SS and 1 X 9. But it only comes with a 32T.

You can find some awesome prices on older model closeouts, crank, ring, bash and GXP bb included.
Old enough to know better. And old enough not to care. Best age to be.

You can buy M770 crank arms (xt) in 180mm on ebay for $180 shipped (with bb) and get a nice SS chainrain for about 30 bucks. Don't think you find anything better for the price/weight/strength combo.

I've had my 1st gen LX Hollowtech2 in three SS frames. Now it's on my 29er SS. No issues
