Good light weight steel square taper BB

I'm looking for a good light weight steel spindle square taper (I know, old skool) bottom bracket and can't find anything. Its going on my trail bike and I'm worried an Action Tec wouldn't handle the abuse.

    Any suggestions, and possibly sorces?

    1) Watch E-Bay. Maybe an XTR will pop up, or a Race Face Taperloc, or something else.

    2) Go to the local LBS and find the UN-71 or 72 or 73. About 240g.

    3) Get a Phil Wood.

    4) Go visit Interloc.

    Good luck,

for square taper, i use nothing other than the Gold Standard of Phil Wood. The stainless steel version is on 2 of my bikes and it is bombproof or you can always get the Ti Phil Wood.

I got a UN-73 for another bike but was looking for something lighter though I don't think I'm going to get much lighter with steel. Ebay hasn't been much help lately either. I'll try interloc though, thanks

How much do you weigh and what kind of stunts you doing? I went 5 yrs on a 4 bearing ti bb with no problems but all the drops were around 2' max and back then i was about 160 lbs. The UN-7x are nice bb and you really can't get much lighter in steel, the only draw back to them is no chainline adjustments.

I will weigh 155 (target weight for the start of the season) and don't really plan on doing anything super crazy. I'll probably do quite a bit of 2-3' drops, the occasional 4-5 footer, and maybe a trip to Rays
