New question here. FSA DH/SS MTB 40 tooth for big ring?

I want a 40 tooth ring for the big but I'm having trouble finding one.

This ring is advertised as DH or SS use because it has no ramps or pins but is there any reason I can't use it for my big ring? I realize it may not jump to the big as quick without the ramps and pins but the whole reason I want a 40 is to stay in it more. In the old days rings didn't have ramps and pins and they shifted ok.

    Thanks.

i dont think you would have a problem with no ramps/pins.

im assuming your middle ring is a 34 or 36... a 40 isnt much of a big jump so the ramps/pin thing might not make such a big deal in shifting up to the 40 from the middle.

    Thanks, I'm running a 32 middle.

I didn't see any reason why that FSA ring wouldn't work but just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was forgetting.
