FSA Afterburner BB30 new vs old

The 2011 afterburner comes in silver and weigh 870grams and the 2012 comes in black and weighs 823 but the crank arms look the same. I plan on using the crank as a 1x9 with a renthal ring and was wondering if the actual crank itself weighs the same and if the weight savings is just from the new 100-percent CNC AL7075 T6 chainrings on the 2012. I would much rather prefer the 2011 silver crank(cheaper also) if they weigh the same without chainrings. But this will be for a xc hardtail budget race bike and the weight does matter to an extent.
