New question here. front derailleur that doesnt need a cable stop?

Long story short: I have a frame with a missing front der. cable stop on the seat tube. Are there are any decent front der. that can run cable housing all the way to the mech? I have only found some on very old low end road bikes.

I know I know I should just get the cable stop brazed on there... it will happen, but I dread dropping off my frame when riding season is about to go full swing...

Sure it is not setup for a bottom pull derailleur?

Problem Solvers makes a clamp on stop.

Oh I am sure. It's a custom steel frame and the builder noted to me immediately that he spaced that cable stop and is willing to correct it for me, free of charge.

I will try to find that product you mention.

    In A Pinch...

You can run the housing all the way to any f derailleur. Replace the cable bolt on the f derailleur with a threaded cable stop. Then run the cable through this and use use your BB to clamp the end of the cable.

Running the housing all the way to the f derailleur was fairly popular in the late 80's. These frames would have a bolt down near the BB shell to secure the end of the cable.
