    Freehub Body question

Not sure that this is a drivetrain question but what is the compatibility of different freehubs with different brand hubs? I have a sun hub I need a freehub body for but cant find one, can I use a shimano? mavic?

Shimano freehubs are probably the most widely used, both among their own hubs and among other manufacturers. Mavic makes their own proprietary design as well as many companies such as American Classic, DT Swiss, White Industries, Phil Wood, Ritchey, etc., etc... None are of the above are cross-compatible, as they are fundamentally different designs.

IIRC, Sun Ringle uses their own propiertary freehub unless it's a cup and cone bearing setup, in which case it may be a Shimano. Probably best to contact them directly.
