    egg beater sl end plug/cap

Just received my new egg beater sl pedals today. Right out of the box they have alot of
spindle play/slop. I thought I would unscrew the eng plug and give nut a little snug. No
such luck. The end plugs are so tight I'm destroying them. On the box it says aluminum,
black anodized end plugs. These are plastic. Suggestions on removing them? I think
the only way will be to destroy them. Them what to do for end plugs?

    Solution

If anyone has this problem here's what I did. Sprayed a little triflow on the end plug and
let it seep into the threads. Took a hair dryer and heated it a little. Let it cool for a few
minutes and presto they broke free. Upon removing the end plug the threads were coated
with a varnish type substance that seized them to the pedals. Cleaned the threads and
greased and reinstalled. The plugs look a little chewed up but I'm hoping Crank Brothers
    has another set laying around.
