E Thirteen XCX wont work with Crank, any ideas?

Just picked up my Ethirteen XCX low mount chainguard. Went for a ride before install and dropped my chain 3 times.

I got back home, cracked a brew and was going to get to work but can't get the sucker to work. The guard doesn't have enough lateral movement to clear my crank arm! What gives?

How wide is your bottom bracket?
I don't crash, I just have slightly uncontrolled dismounts!

Good question - I don't know. Wide enough to keep a good chainline on my 1x6 setup with a CK SS hub. Chainring has plenty of clearance from the chainstay.

    What gives?

Well, it's not as if they can make the design work for every single crank/ring/frame combo out there, you know.

    1. new crank

    or 2. new guide.

or 3. start cutting your guide down to fit.

Is the chainring centered in the guide? Kind of hard to tell from the picture. e13 does make a similar CX specific guide for narrower chainlines. You may need that instead.
