    Durable and maintenance free

I'm looking for the best set and forget drivetrain....

I'll be doing several endurance mountain races this year including the CTR 500 so I WILL want / need my granny gears for sure!! ....Some sections I will be climbing singletrack for my life but at other times I will be on dirt and paved roads where I will want my big gears as well...I think this kind of rules out the 2 x 10 setups for me.

    Should I stick with my usual 3 x 9 XTR or look into 3 x 10??

What about 2X9 with a 11 - 36 T spread? You may need to go to a different derailure as most are 34 T max.
