    Dues XC Triple Double conversion

I decided to try Rotor's 38/25 chainring combo on my RaceFace Dues XC triple crank. Unfortunately, I found out that the little ledge the chainring sits on has a slightly bigger diameter for the middle ring than the outer ring, which means the 38t ring can't be mounted to the middle position as i was hoping. Is this fitment standard? Will the 38t fit an XT triple crank in the middle position? What about the newer Turbine 104/64 double crank? Will raceface 104/64 double chainrings fit the Dues?

I've had a similar issue with Shimano 104BCD chainrings before when they changed the shoulder height - I dremeled about 2mm off the chain ring tabs and it fit fine

Did you still have some shoulder left? If I dremel the shoulder on the Dues it will be mostly gone. The small ring has no shoulder, but also uses steel chainring bolts, vs alloy for the big/middle. Is it ok to mount the middle with no shoulder if you're running steel bolts?

Yes, the shoulder does little to support the rings.

Agreed, I have the Deus with Blackspire 38x26 rings and the 38 doesn't sit on the shoulders. No issues.

Well, after going through the trouble of filing off the shoulder, I realized the Rotor inner ring doesn't clear the BB shell I suppose I could try a 3 ring setup and use a non-Rotor ring for the inner ring, but their 33 tooth/44 tooth middle/outer combination is too big for me. Guess I'm going to have to give up on rotor rings. Damn, they seem pretty cool.
