Do I run the same length Rear Derailleur when switching to SRAM type 2?

Currently running an X9 medium cage RD on my S-Works Epic 29. Looking to switch to the type 2 but I am wondering if I need to go to long cage when that occurs? For reference I am running the S-Works 38-24 crank with a 11-36 1070 cassette. I ask this due to the increase in spring tension the Type 2 may or may not have in comparsion to the non-type 2.

The cage length has nothing to do with spring tension. Run the same length you have now.
