Which Derailleur Works with 36 teeth cassettes?

I am considering a 36t cassette for my next build (2x9 setup).

Besides the new SRAM XX rear derailleur, which ones can clear a 36t cassette?

Looking at the official specs from SRAM and Shimano, they all seem to claim 34t max.

But I know many people have 36t cassettes (e.g. ActionTec), so what derailleur are your using? Any modifications needed?

Pretty much any SRAM or Shimano mountain derailleur will work...yes I know they say 34t is max but they will work.

Adjusting the B-Tension screw is all that is generally required

10 speed road shifters...flat bar, brifters, or barcons will all work with Shimano MTB rear derailleurs.

What front chainring combo are you going to use? I'm running a 24/36 with a 11-32 and I can't imagine needing a 36t rear. Perhaps if I went with a 27/40, I could see how it would useful.

I have tried my XTR shadow SGS (long) RD with the XX 11/36, and it does NOT work

I have to adjust the B-Tension screw for up pulley work with the 36T, and the pulley is too far away when in the smallest cogs, and need 2 clicks to rise (and then one to stay)

    can I do any mod?
