I've got that watched in my ebay...thinking about having a backup to my teflon 920.

No, a chain is a chain--go to your local shop and get a SRAM.

A chain is not just a chain. They are not created equal. So yeah, just go get a SRAM chain. Right. So it can rust, wear quickly and snap under power. Still, not as bad as 's "chains" but Wipperman is leagues better IMHO. And for a comparable SRAM chain, you'll likely pay as much. I'd take the stronger chain.

I'm going to sound like a pompous ******* here, but I push an extremely big gear much of the time (1x9 drivetrain) and I am not breaking chains. In fact, in the last 14+ years, I may have broken a chain once, but I don't recall when that was and what chain it was. How strong of a chain do I need? Not any stronger than what I've had-shimano and sram. Its just not an issue.

Well congrats. I've broken enough SRAM chains (and more Shimano chains than I care to think of) and to this point, Wipperman is the only chain I have not destroyed.

If you're rough on gear, get the best and don't worry about it.
