    CS-M760 Cassette

I need some help. I picked up a free new XT CS-M760 cassette. The reason it was free is that its missing the 11 tooth gear. So it only has 8. Does anyone have an old cassette lying around with a matching 11 tooth gear???

You can just order in a 11T from your LBS. Why get a used and possible worn out from the Internet? Your just asking for DT problems.

I work at an LBS. Just trying to stay cheap. I'm rarely in the small/big combo anyway on my MTB.

It'll cost like 3 bucks... Or find a old cassette and gank the 11t.

We have a whole box full of old cassettes sitting around. It'll cost just as much to ship it though.

I have several (and not necessarily giving any up), but if it's an M970 it's XTR, not XT....

My bad. Its actually a CS-M760. I was looking at the XTR pro deal sheet when typing this. lol

Right now I've subsituted the 11 tooth from a spare road cassette. But would like to return it to its proper group eventually.

Why bother? An 11t from the same spacing (i.e. 8 spd vs 9 spd) should be just fine...

A 11t from another 9 speed cassette will work just fine. I doubt you'll notice any differences in weight or shifting.

Thats what I'm using right now. Guess if I'm gonna have to buy another 11 tooth gear if I want an original replacement.
