Crankset: '07 XT vs. '08 XT

I'm looking to put a new crankset on my GF Paragon. Other than the claimed 10g weight difference, is there any advantage to putting a 2008 XT crankset on instead of a 2007 XT crankset? The '08 version seems to be costing around around $200 from various online retailers. You can pick up '07 versions for about $150 new and under $100 for lightly used on ebay. I am not that concerned about chainring wear on a used set since I will be changing out the middle ring for a steel ring anyway. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

the new middle ring should last longer since it is steel/carbon, but just go with the one you like best...both are sweet cranks.... also check, they are in the UK, but you get free shipping if you buy over 100 GBP (about $210)
