    Crank Brothers Pedal Spring Removal

Anyone ever taken the actual springs off of their Crank Brothers pedals?

It may seem a little silly, but I have CB Quattro pedals with blue springs on my red road bike, and CB Acids with red springs on my blue MTB. I'd love to switch them, but haven't seen anything online that makes me think it is possible for me to do myself.

I know about the pedal rebuild kits, but they dont deal with the springs themselves at all. Anyone have any experience in this area?

    Thanks in advance,

    -James

I have done it, and it worked once, and didn't once. I wouldn't know what springs swapped well, but you can sure try it, and put it all back together if they won't fit.

I was screwing around to get lighter springs on my mallets, I think. And swapped some from another set of candys or mallets and it worked. I think I tried the same thing with some newer candys and couldn't get the spring to line up. If you are just doing it for color coordination it is not worth the hassle.

Thanks for the response. You're right about it probably not being worth it for color coordination if its that big of a hassle.
