I'm actually having the issue on my Cyclocross. I have a FSA Energy compact double 50/34t with a Ultegra cassette. The frame is set up for a 35mm rear hub. I had a Truvative crank on it prior to buying the FSA and didn't have this problem. When I have the gears set on the small front ring and on the two smallest cogs the chain hits the inside of the big ring of the crank. Could this be because the FSA crank is compact? Would putting a super narrow chain work, I currently have a Dura Ace 9sp chain. Switching the small chain ring wouldn't solve anything and I think installing a wider BB would cause to many other issues.
Any input would be great.
