    Cogs 11-34 vs. 12-34

    Hello...

    what are the advantages and disadvatages of Cogs:

    11t-32 , 11t-34, 12t-34

    11-32 v 12-34 etc...

    11-32 is lighter than 12-34 [and you can run your chain shorter]
    12-34 has a nice even ratio spacing [check this out on Shimano website]
    12-34 is better if you only run 2 chain rings up front as you have a lower 1st gear
    12-32 closer ratios [but only just]

    And 11-34 is good if you only have one ring up front as it gives you the widest spread at the rear.

    you avoided the 11-34, why is that?

    Anyway, to the OP, if you need the 34, then just pick 11 or 12 based on the highest gear you expect to actually use. I have 11-34 on all my MTbikes but I run 22-32-BG on all my bikes too.
