    Chainring shifting issue

I am trying to replace a SRAM 33t ring and so I bought a 32t blackspire ring made for 9/10 speed. I installed but it doesn't seem to shift correctly. Could the one less tooth make the ring just small enough to throw the derailleur off? Should I have gone with 34t?

I didn't go 33t because the rings are double the cost.

One tooth won't make a difference. You didn't give any info about your bike but I'll take a wild stab and guess that the Sram chainring had pins and ramps that were better optimized for the drivetrain you are using.

Is it just shifting slower than before or something else?

Also make sure the indicator tab is lined up with the crankarm.

Has original x7 sram direct mount front derailleur. 2x10 front 33/22 t sram crank rear 11-36 shimano on a specialized fsr. I put the original back on it shifts fine. I put the 32t blackspire and won't downshift and gets jammed on slow up shifting.

I didn't realize there are indicator tabs but I will look.

ya,.. what he said.. when ordering from Blackspire you have to make sure you get the one with pins and ramps to lift the chain. My Plackspire shifts better than any stock sram or shimmy ring I've ever used.
Going to try and bring Trail Tire TV back. go take a look... http://trailtiretv.blogspot.com/
