I just built up an Ebay KHS 504 frame ('04): XT rear hub, RD and FD, shitmano 73/110 mm BB, Deore crank set...
Got everything dialed in on the stand, really didn't pay attention to chainline. On the maiden voyage, I break the goddamned chain 4 times! Turns out, due to the extreme angle of the chain line, it's cross chaining in about half of the gear combos. So the question is.....
Is there any secret squirrel parts that are specific to the 504 drivetrain?
Can spacers help? I don't see how, the way I look at it, the BB axel is putting the crank further out from the frame than the cog.
Would a 73/107mm BB work? The chainline is off way more than 3 mm though.
