Chain Sticks in Big-Big on 3x10 XTR Plus

    Anyone run into this before?...

When accidentally shifting into the BIG - BIG combo & with the derailleur clutch on, chain wont drop down to a smaller cog upon shifting. Turn the clutch to the off position & problem goes away. I can drop to the middle ring to get things sorted out but in the heat of a race its a major pain.

The only other time I ran into this was on another bike that wasn't running a long enough derailluer cage. Shouldn't be the case here.

    Here's the setup
-xtr plus derailleur sgs (long cage)
    -xtr cassette 11-36
    -xtr crank 24-32-42
-sram 1091r chain, sized according to sram recommendations

Would adding another link fix the problem? Unfortunately this requires I buy a new chain.

Or should I adjust the clutch internally? never done this before.

    Check the B-screw adjustment.
    Lengthen the chain.
Can the clutch be adjusted? I do not know.

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common
