chain skips 2nd largest cassette ring

OK, this one's got me stumped. When in either the small or large chain ring on my 2 x 9 set up my chain is skipping the 2nd largest cassette ring. I am looking hard to see any kind of bend in one of the cassette rings but can't find one. The chain will sometimes at least initially go to the ring but then immediately skips to the one next to it.

    Any ideas?

Also checkout the parktool website for how to set up gears properly. If you go through all the steps then you will eliminate derailleur position and cable tension as a cause.

if you haven't changed any parts and it was working before, it's probably a bent hanger.
