Chain guides & bottom brackets? x- post

I purchased an MRP LRP chain guide. I have an LX octalink crankset and an XT BB. The XT BB has 10mm of threads on the drive side cup, the MRP bracket is 3mm thick, the BB enters the frame about 2.5 mm before thread contact - so if you do the math I have less than 5mm of threads in the frame ( 3 whole turns of the BB). Are chain guides and Shimano a bad mix? I went into the LBS where they suggested an XT E type BB - well it has only 11mm of threads. Pictures of DH ISIS BB's appear to have more threads. What to do? Thanx

Keen I use the Evil chaiguide with the same cranks+BB. The bracket looks about 3mm thick so I feel you'll be OK. There aren't any threads on the BB where the bracket will sit anyway.
