First off, my MTB nomenclature skills are not the best.
Problem, For the past two weeks when I really put some torque on my cranks while the chain is in the large cassette at the crank it comes off a bit. It never comes completely off, but rather like it is almost slipping. As in when I feel it give way I lay off while still pedaling and it gets back on track. Awful noise though.
I am getting my ride rebuilt with new components when I get back to the States in two months. Does this sound like an adjustment could be out of whack? Or does this sound like the chain is warn and has too much slack?
The drivetrain is complete XTR and has been going strong since '06.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
