Bottom bracket FD/RD routing.... any good way to do this?
... because I gotta say, they way that my Salsa Mamasita does it, sucks ass. It has the usual road bike style front derailleur and rear derailleur style routing. I built the bike, and within an hour of riding, it felt like gravely crap. Compound that with a downtube fender and or a light battery strapped to the downtube, and now I have major shifting issues.
I typically drill out the stops and run full length housing on all my bikes. I can probably do this without too much trouble for the rear derailleur, but the front doesn't have a housing stop.
Does anybody make a bottom bracket guide with a stop on it, or some other solution?
Road bike cables on a mountain bike is stupid setup, IMO. I guess it saves weight, but it surely isn't as crud resistant as it should be for dirt.
Looks like this pic I stole from the internet....
Problem Solvers backstop clamped on the seat tube, full run housing zip tie to the frame would work, in my estimation.
You would need a top pull compatible derailleur.
Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking I might fabricate something with a v-brake noodle or something... like bend it so the radius matches the shell of the BB, then put a tab for the BB screw to hold it in place. I can't believe the some company hasn't done this yet.
